Free State Stars coach Giovanni Solinas says his side are going to give Kaizer Chiefs a real fight when the two side’s in Telkom Knockout quarter-finals on Sunday.

Despite only suffering one defeat in their last five matches in all competitions , Ea Lla Koto’s only victory came against Bidvest Wits following their 3-1 victory in the Last 16 round of the knockout tournament.

Since Solinas’ reappointed as head coach in October, Stars have gone on a four-match unbeaten run and the 48-year-old says his side’s determination to give Amakhosi a run for their money.

‘Looking at the TKO match, it’s going to be a big challenge for us. Chiefs are a good team with good players, but we are going there to fight,’ Solinas told the Free State Stars website.

‘As much as our priority is the league, we also want to do well in cup competitions.’

Free State Stars will now travel to the Moses Mabhida Stadium when they take on Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout Cup on Sunday.

Kick-off has been scheduled for 15:00.
