Sithole to extend Stars stay

Platinum Stars has revealed that the club is closer to agreeing on terms of extending the contract of defender Gift Sithole.

The 33-year-old defender joined Platinum Stars from Golden Arrows in 2014. reportedly

Sithole was reportedly going to be released from the club, but a SoccerLaduma source has revealed that Dikwena are in talks with the player to negotiate an extension on his contract.

‘For now, we can say it’s a one season deal because it’s until next season,’ the source said.

The source went on to say that Sithole’s extension comes after producing an impressive performance for Dikwena during the 2015-16 season.

‘He has done very well mainly last season under coach Cavin Johnson and I think that’s why they have given him another one year,’ the source added.

The former Bay United defender has made 15 appearances for Platinum Stars in the Absa Premiership last season while scoring one goal.
