Free State Stars MDC head coach Themba Sithole is relishing the chance to take on Cape Town City in their next MultiChoice Diski encounter.

The club’s head of youth development says his side have prepared well for this clash, but that it will be challenging going up against a new team.

‘The preparations have gone well ahead of the upcoming match against newcomers Cape Town City,’ Sithole told the Free State Stars website.

‘They are the new kids on the block, we don’t know what to expect, but looking at the standings – we are par with them on points and only ahead on goal difference.’

Sithole is confident they have what it takes to bag maximum points and climb the league table.

‘We are looking to bounce back and catch up with the rest of the pack, as we are only six points clear of the log leaders Bidvest Wits.

‘Our team has lost a few players, but we have tried our best to replace them but we’re only waiting for their registration cards to arrive from Safa.

‘We are going there to fight and give all our best, and our objective is to finish as far up as possible,’ he said.
