Bafana Bafana midfielder Thulani Serero appears to have little prospects of a future at Ajax Amsterdam after being left off the club’s squad list.

The club’s new manager Peter Bosz, who replaced Frank De Boer, revealed that Serero’s name was not on the list of first-team players ahead of the new Eredivisie campaign.

According to Ajaxshowtime.com, Bosz also stated that it was the club’s decision and not his to remove the South African from his plans this season.

‘Whether it was my decision? No, I was told that there are players in the selection and he was not among them. It is further to the club, ‘ said Bosz.

Serero, who joined Ajax from feeder club Ajax Cape Town, now faces the prospect of sitting on the sidelines or playing for the club’s youth side as he is unlikely to attract interest at this stage due to a knee injury.

During his time in Holland, the Bafana star won three Eredivisie titles and made 121 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 10 goals.
