Chippa United executive chairman Siviwe Mpengesi has announced that Thamsanqa Sangweni and Rhulani Manzini have committed their future to the club for a further three years.

The Chippa duo’s contracts were set to expire at the end of the 2016-17 season but have now extended their stay at the club until the end June 2019-20 season.

Mpengesi says that he is delighted to have secured the futures of the pair before insisting that Sangweni and Manzini are an integral part of the Chippa set up.

‘We are delighted to have reached an agreement with both Thamsanqa Sangweni and Rhulani Manzini. They both important players for the Team and our ambitions going forward,’ Mpengesi said.

‘The extension demonstrates our ambition as a football club to continue to grow and challenge for honors.

‘I would like to thank both players’ management for their professionalism during negotiations. We are excited to have both players staying with us long term.’

Chippa United will now travel to Cape Town Stadium when they take on Ajax Cape Town in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
