The Premier Soccer League have approved Vasco da Gama’s name change to Stellenbosch FC.

Earlier this month the NFD side announced their name change with the PSL releasing a statement confirming the change.

‘The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Executive Committee has approved an application from National First Division side, Vasco Da Gama for a name change in accordance to Article 31 of the NSL Constitution,’ according to the PSL statement.

The Cape side will now be known as Stellenbosch FC and has recently moved to the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport (SAS) where they will be based ahead of the 2016-17 NFD season.
