Orlando Pirates have become the latest Absa Premiership side interested in signing Mbabane Swallows midfielder Felix Badenhorst.

This season the 27-year-old midfielder has been on the radar of big name Absa Premiership teams, including Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Bidets Wits.

The former Jomo Cosmos player has been in impressive form for Swaziland during the Cosafa Cup after scoring five goals in four matches.

According to an impeccable source, the Buccaneers are still monitoring the situation but insists that Pirates are yet to contact the player.

‘Yes, he is still being monitored, but Pirates are yet to make a call regarding Felix. His club is aware of Pirates’ interest,’ the source told Goal.

The source went on to say that Badenhorst will only join a top South African team and will ply his trade in the Absa Premiership next season.

‘One thing for sure, he (Badenhorst) is most likely to join a top South African club after the Cosafa tournament,’ the source added.

Swaziland teammates will take on Bafana Bafana in the Cosafa Cup semi-finals at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Wednesday.

Kick-off has been set for 18:00.
