Kaizer Chiefs forward Bernard Parker insists winning the Carling Black Label Cup will give Amakhosi a boost ahead of the new season.

The Glamour Boys and Orlando Pirates will go head-to-head in the Championship Cup with the Bucs getting the upper hand over Amakhosi winning both of the last two cup finals.

The 30-year-old reveal that winning the Cup finals will give his side an early mental boost they need for the 2016-17 season.

‘The Black Label Cup is a great game and a big event,’ he told KickOff.com.

‘Soweto Derbies are always massive. Winning the derby is huge and it automatically gives you that boost of confidence heading into the new season.

‘It’s very important that we do get the bragging rights and that we win the game.’

Chiefs will be boosted by the availability of star duo Itumeleng Khune and Eric Mathoho in the squad despite their Olympic Games commitments, while Pirates have ruled out their four Under-23 national team players ahead of the one-day spectacle.

Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have ruled out their four U23 national team players ahead of the Cup finals.

The Carling Black Label Cup match will takes place at FNB Stadium on July 30.
