Bidvest Wits midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase is working hard to make his way back into the first team after returning from injury.

The 21-year-old sustained a thigh injury early in the season and has been sidelined, having only made one appearance this season coming off the bench in their match against Bloemfontein Celtic.

Ntshangase believes the way the team are performing motivates him to work harder to make it back into the first team.

‘I know that I really have to double my efforts to get back into the team, especially now that team is doing this well,’ Ntshangase told KickOff.com.

‘Right now when the team is doing as well as it is doing, it means you cannot even fault the coach for not changing the team and all you do is push hard from your side.’

The South African U23 midfielder says since returning from injury, he has been improving during training to better his chances of more playing time.

‘Since I came back I have been working on what I need to improve with my game so that when my chance comes, I am a better player.’

Bidvest will now take on Platinum Stars in their next Absa Premiership clash on Saturday.

The match at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium kicks of at 20:15.
