New Mamelodi Sundowns signing Ricardo Nascimento could be poised to make his debut for the club in the Caf Champions League.

The Brazilian, who has joined the club from Portuguese side Academica, recently began training the with his new teammates following the completion of his paperwork.

‘The plan was to [officially] unveil Ricardo today, but we apologise for [his absence],’ coach Pitso Mosimane told the press, as reported by KickOff.

‘We had to make a decision because his police clearance number came from Brazil, which they need for his work permit, so he had to rush before they close at 12pm.’

The coach has revealed the side hope to have the player ready for action by the time they face Zamalek on Wednesday.

‘We are trying to get him on the bench for the game on Wednesday because I think you know that Wayne Arendse is suspended – he got a second yellow [in the last match against Zamalek] – so we’re trying our best to get that sorted.

‘Ricardo is not ready; he’s 60 percent there, which could give him 30 minutes with his experience,’ the coach added.

The match will be played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
