Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Simphiwe Mtsweni looks set to join National First Division side Royal Eagles.

A source has told SoccerLaduma that the 21-year-old will start training with the Durban-based club.

‘Simphiwe will be training with Eagles,’ the source revealed.

Mtsweni could join the NFD club if he impresses the coaching staff during his trial period.

‘Depending on whether the technical team are happy with his performance, he could join the team but it will start with trials,’ the source added.

Having spent three years with the Glamour Boys, Mtsweni was released by the club at the end of last season following the exodus of 20 players.
