Bloemfontein Celtic COO Chabeli Motsamai says he is confident that the ‘football Gods’ will be on their side when they take on Orlando Pirates on Tuesday.

Phunya Sele Sele are coming off the back of a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Ajax Cape Town ahead of their Absa Premiership clash against the Buccaneers.

The clubs COO has expressed his disappointment at his side’s failure to convert the chances they created throughout their clash against the Urban Warriors.

‘Lady Luck seems to have deserted us if you look at the number of goal scoring opportunities created in recent weeks,’ Motsamai told the Bloemfontein Celtic website.

‘Our boys have been focused and recently produced some phenomenal fighting spirit only to be halted by an element of hard luck.

‘Our players are willing to give our fervent fans a Christmas present that will keep them talking beyond the January Afcon break and that can only happen if we win against Pirates. We are confident the gods-of-football will be on our side come Tuesday.

The match at Orlando Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
