Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says his experience playing in cup finals will give his side the edge over Bidvest Wits in the final of the MTN8 on Saturday.

The Brazilians will lock horns with the Clever Boys at the Mbombela Stadium with the winner receiving R8 million and runner-up receiving R800 000 for participating in the competition.

The 52-year-old believes his side has an edge over Wits having more experience of playing in Cup finals.

‘I have said also before the game of Chippa United that in my opinion, we have a little bit of an edge because we know how to play these games,’ Mosimane said.

‘We normally don’t have butterflies in our stomachs when we are faced with a game that is a win at all cost. I mean how many winners at all cost games have we played lately.’

Mosimane added that his tactics on the day will all depend on how his side’s performance on the day but he insists that he is relishing the chance at lifting the trophy.

‘The game on Saturday, we will see what it wants. If we are in trouble we will play effective and if it’s open we will put the Sundowns game,’ he added.

‘So this is what we will have to do to lift the trophy just like Gavin [Hunt] also wants to lift the trophy. At the end of the day, we want to lift the trophy.’

Kick-off has been set for 17:00.
