Mosimane undecided on Tiene

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is yet to make up his mind regarding the singing of veteran midfielder Siaka Tiene.

The Ivory Coast international, who was in the Sundowns side between 2003 to 2005, was pictured celebrating alongside Downs players as they celebrated their title triumph at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on May 21.

But Mosimane is adamant he would have to have a look at the 34-year-old before considering adding him to his side’s ranks.

‘I haven’t seen him playing. I haven’t watched him playing. I have to get the video footage,’ the coach told KickOff.

‘If the quality is still there, we will need to see the legs. He is 34 and we will see if the legs are still there.’

Mosimane is well aware of the troubles the side face in recruiting new talent locally.

‘You must remember the last three transfer windows we have signed three players: Fiston (Razak), (Leonardo) Castro and Bangaly (Soumahoro). They are not from around. When Sundowns wants a player everybody calls R7 million, R6 million.

‘We are no longer in that business of R7 million, R6 million. We no longer pay that because no one pays us even R3 million for players they want. Gone are those days, ‘ he concluded.
