Orlando Pirates’ new signing Bernard Morrison has admitted he has been impressed by Mamelodi Sundowns star Khama Billiat’s performances and hopes to match them.

The Ghanaian spoke freely of his admiration of the Zimbabwean and hopes he can follow the star’s example by becoming one of the best players in the Premiership. Furthermore, Morrison revealed he joined Orlando Pirates in the hope of securing titles with the side.

‘I want to be one of the top players in South Africa. I’m happy for Khama Billiat because he has been on top form in every game. He is scoring and he is always on form … I want to be as good as him,’ Morrison told SoccerLaduma

The 23-year-old playmaker added that Billiat is not a personal friend of his but is nevertheless someone he admires.

‘He is not really my personal friend, but he is someone I like. I saw him when we went to play a tournament in Namibia and I liked his composure. To be recognised will be a great achievement and I have been working hard.’

‘I want to win titles with Orlando Pirates and I want to be one of the best players in South Africa,’ Morrison concluded.

The forward has made two appearances for Pirates so far this season.
