Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Thapelo Morena says he feels excited to be a part of his first cup finals ahead of the MTN8 finals on Saturday.

The Brazilians take on Bidvest Wits in the MTN8 finals on Saturday with the winners walking away with R8 million while the runners-up receive R800 000.

The 23-year-old says he is relishing the chance to play in his very first finals and he will be hoping he can win his first trophy with his new club.

‘I am really happy because this is my first cup final ever in my professional career,’ Morena tells KickOff.com.

‘I also hope that this will also go on to become the first of many trophies that I will go on to win in my time here at Sundowns. When something is happening for the first time it feels different and that is the case with me.’

Morena says he understands that he might not play in the finals, declaring that the clubs has a lot of quality players in the squad.

‘I cannot really explain how I am feeling ahead of this final because it is all new. The guys who have been here at the club for a while now have been telling us that they are welcoming us in a precious way by getting us to have a feel of two finals,’ he added.

‘They have told us that we shouldn’t worry at all because this is Mamelodi Sundowns and this is what players at the club live for, that good feeling of reaching cup finals and wanting to win them.’

Kick-off has been set for 17:00.
