Bloemfontein Celtic right back Tlou Molekwane says he is positive about the prospects of challenging for the Absa Premiership title during the 2016-17 season.

The 27-year-old was one of Phunya Sele Sele seven summer signings including the likes of Cheslyn Jampies, Mpho Maruping, Deon Hotto, Khethokwakhe Masuku, Atusaye Nyondo and Sibusiso Mxoyana.

Molekwane insists Siwelele has been working hard to prepare themselves for their opening clash against Maritzburg United in their opening Absa Premiership fixture at the Molemela Stadium on August 23.

‘The entire squad has been working vigorously during pre-season to ensure our readiness when the season begins,’ Molekwane told the Bloemfontein Celtic website.

‘Most of the new guys are gradually gelling and getting used to the playing system that the coach and technical team want us to use.

‘We have been playing friendly games with competitive teams and that has also helped us get used to each other.’

The former Kaizer Chiefs right back believes that he has already seen great improvements in the team during their pre-season training ahead of the new season.

‘What the coach said about Celtic winning trophies in his comments when we were unveiled has been emphasised during the training sessions. We are tirelessly working towards achieving greater heights this season,’ he added.

During his career, Molekwane has featured 46 times playing for the likes of Polokwane City, Bidvest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs.

Kick-0ff has been set for 19:30.
