SuperSport United winger Thabo Mnyamane says it was important for his side to collect three points against Bidvest Wits with their 2-0 win at the Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old produced a man-of-the-match performance against the Students, by getting on the scoresheet after Clayton Daniels broke the deadlock to help Matsatsantsa move above Wits on the Absa Premiership table.

Despite collecting all three points, Mnyamane predicted his side will keep on targeting positive results.

‘It wasn’t a beautiful game, it was a bit scrappy. But we will take the three points and go home with it,’ Mnyamane said after the match.

‘We knew both teams wanted to get the three points, so we said, you know what, it may not be beautiful, but we must just put in the hard work and the mighty [talent] God has provided.

‘It’s very important to get positive results because we are contending for the league. Every point counts, so as a team, as a collective, you want to get maximum points from every game.’

Cape Town City travel to the Bidvest Stadium to take on Bidvest Wits in the Absa Premiership on 2 December.

Kick-off has been set for 20:00.
