Xola Mlambo has bid a sincere farewell to his former side Chippa United following his transfer to Premiership runners-up Bidvest Wits.

The midfielder spent just half a season with the Chilli Boys having arrived from National First Division side Cape Town All Stars at the midpoint of last season.

25-year-old was impressive in his time with Chippa and has now been whisked away following an offer from the Clever Boys.

‘I am lost for words,’ he told Chippa United’s website.

‘I don’t know where to start and what to say, I am just grateful to the club for welcoming me with open arms in January, and for everything they have done for me.

‘I want to thank the fans not only for the love and welcome they gave me on my arrival but for the manner in which they cheered us on the pitch,’ he added.

Mlambo credited the fans as among the best in the country, while he also thanked the club, his teammates and the club staff for their confidence in him and their support.

‘They have laid a good foundation for the club and I have no doubt Chippa United will be challenging for trophies this coming season,’ he player concluded.

Mlambo made 16 appearances for the Chilli Boys last term.
