Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredjovic has revealed that he aims to take Orlando Pirates to more Caf Champions League glory, writes DEAN WORKMAN.

The Buccaneers last won Africa’s top prize in 1995. They then came close to adding another star to their famous badge when they finished as runners-up in the 2013 Caf Champions League. The Sea Robbers then again failed in the final hurdle in 2015 but that was in the Caf Confederations Cup, Africa’s second-tier continental competition.

Coach Micho revealed at the Absa Premiership monthly awards press conference on Thursday, that he aims to add another star to the Pirates badge.

‘I count myself as a lucky person in the lake called African football, where many crocodiles are. So, I know how to swim in those waters and I believe with that experience of eighteen years on the African continent, I could accept the stability that we have brought to Orlando Pirates on the local scene.’

‘We have a dream and we want to add more star and stars to what we already have since 1995 and when it comes we [will] do anything possible to qualify for the continent,’ said the former Uganda national team coach.

‘I have already told them [the players] that Africa is hungry to see Orlando Pirates as a brand, respected on the continent to the highest possible degree.

‘So, we shall work very hard in the remaining five matches to qualify first, when it comes [then] we shall plan accordingly,’ concluded the Serbian.
