Veteran striker Katlego Mashego says he is looking forward to the opportunity of continuing his career after signing a 20-month contract with Chippa United.

The 34-year-old old has now signed for the Chilli Boys on a free agent after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the 2015-16 season.

The former Bafana Bafana striker has expressed his delight at joining the Chilli Boys and says he is grateful for the opportunity the club has given him to continue his career in football.

‘It is great to be here and a wonderful opportunity for me. When I heard that coach, Dan Malesela was interested, I did not think twice about coming down here,’ Mashego said.

‘Chippa United is a great team, and they play football the right way. I am excited to be here, and look forward to contributing to the Club,’

Mashego will wear jersey no. 43 at the club, when the Chilli Boys welcome Cape Town City to the Philippi Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off has been set for 15:30.
