Free State Stars has confirmed that captain Paulus Masehe has been ruled out for at least three months after suffering a serious injury in the Telkom Knockout Cup.

Giovanni Solinas side have been dealt a major blow after their captain sustained a rupture of his adductor magnus muscle during their quarter-finals match against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.

The 33-year-old midfielder will now be required to go under the knife following his injury, according to the Free State Stars website.

In other injury reports, Katlego Mashego and Moeketsi Sekola suffered minor sprains against Amakhosi and will be sidelined for two weeks and a week respectively.

Meanwhile, Chris Mafoumbi, Sinethemba Jantjie, Joseph Okumu and Tholang Lwana remain on the injury list and with no confirmed with dates set for their returns.
