Orlando Pirates captain Oupa Manyisa has praised new coach Muhsin Ertugral on his coach philosophies and what he is trying to achieve at the club.

The Buccaneers spent a week on pre-season camp together in Potchefstroom, playing two friendly matches as they eased past NWU 5-0, before defeating Acorn Bush 3-0 following goals by Thamsanqa Gabuza and a brace from Manyisa.

The 27-year-old insists that the Sea Robbers pre-season preparations have been going swell as they prepare for the new season.

‘Yes, it’s been great,’ Manyisa told the Orlando Pirates website.

‘We were bonding as a team and the preparations are going well for the upcoming season.’

Manyisa revealed that new coach Muhsin Ertugral has been working hard to get his side to work as a unit, stating that ‘there is no room for individualism’.

‘He is definitely a good coach,’ he added. “I am happy with what he wants and all the players are adjusting to his coaching methods as well. We camped for a whole week and it’s all sinking in which is why I can’t wait for the start of the new season.

‘He wants us to be organised and play as a team, work as a unit, be patient in approach and believe in our talent as a unit. There is no room for individualism, as coach Muhsin puts it, we win as a team and we lose as a team. Whether we are attacking or defending it doesn’t matter, he wants us to fight as a team.’

The Buccaneers will now turn their attention the Carling Black Label Cup when they face Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Saturday. Kick-off is at 3pm.

Kick-off has been set for 15:00.
