SuperSport United midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane has praised the technical team at Orlando Pirates, saying the Buccaneers can become the best team in the country under their guidance.

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Letsholonyane will turn out for SuperSport when they host the Sea Robbers at the Mbombela Stadium in Polokwane for an Absa Premiership clash on Wednesday evening. He says the Soweto giants have shown vast improvement under the current technical team.

Pirates may still be on their four-year trophy drought, but have been turned into genuine contenders on all fronts by Milutin Sredojevic and his assistants, a far cry from the side who lost 6-1 to Matsatsantsa two years ago.

Pirates end a 10-match unbeaten run against Matsatsantsa last year September with a3-1 victory at the Orlando Stadium, but will need a repeat result if they are to keep up in the title race.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Letsholonyane revealed that he is under no illusions about the challenge Pirates will provide.

‘They have a quality technical team with a mixture of young and old, and they are football people whose knowledge has helped the team improve after a very long time,’ said the midfielder.

‘You can see there is more structure and organisation, and the players are enjoying themselves while doing the right things most of the time.

‘I think in the near future they’ll probably be one of the best teams in the country again.’

SuperSport and Pirates do battle on Wednesday evening with, kick-off set for 7:30pm.
