After picking up the Man-of-the-Match Award against AmaZulu, SuperSport United attacker Fagrie Lakay tells TFG SoccerClub that he will continue to work hard and support coach Kaitano Tembo’s decisions.

The Cape Town-born winger made a late cameo appearance in the 2-0 loss to Cape Town City in their league opener, and although he spent under 20 minutes on the pitch, he still earned a call-up to the starting 11 against AmaZulu.

The 21-year-old repaid the faith shown in him by helping his team secure their first three points of the season, in addition to walking away with the man-of-the-match accolade.

The former Ajax Cape Town loanee is no stranger to coach Tembo, having worked under him at SuperSport’s development academy.

When asked about the advice given to him by his mentor prior to the CT City game, Lakay said he was just told to play his normal attacking game, while revealing that he wasn’t frustrated at being left on the substitutes bench.

‘Coach Tembo told me to go out there and give my best and get behind them,’ Lakay told TFG SoccerClub.

‘We have a good bunch of players so instead of being frustrated, the best thing is to support whoever is playing and learn from them,’ he concluded.
