Mamelodi Sundowns striker Anthony Laffor has urged his side to remain focused while he has also shrugged off comparisons to George Weah.

The Liberian has been compared to his iconic countryman in recent weeks as his goals have helped fire his Sundowns side into the final of both the MTN8 and the Caf Champions League.

The Brazilians now play the finals in quick succession as they take on domestic rivals Bidvest Wits in the MTN8 on Saturday before taking on Zamalek in a two-legged final next month.

‘It’s not about me but the team. What happened on Saturday is history,’ Laffor told the media, reports KickOff.

‘We need to keep our feet on the ground and focus to the game on Saturday.’

The player vehemently rejected comparisons to Weah, however, who was proclaimed the World’s Best Player back in 1995. On what George did I will never ever compare myself to George,’ Laffor insisted. ‘I am Anthony. I just have to keep my feet on the ground.’

The striker believes the Caf Champions League will present a tough challenge for his side but was believes they should approach the matches one game at a time.

‘It’s not going to be easy in the  final but we have another game on Saturday. We need to concentrate before we think about the Caf final,’ he concluded.

The veteran forward has been in good form for Sundowns having netted three times in four matches so far this season.
