Former Orlando Pirates boss Ruud Krol could be handed the reins at rivals Kaizer Chiefs should the Amakhosi finally lose patience with Steve Komphela.

Chiefs are in desperate search of a victory as they prepare to face Highlands Park on Wednesday evening. The side are winless in their last seven PSL matches and have endured a draw and two defeats from three competitive games this term.

With the pressure on boss Steve Komphela intensifying, the club could be tempted to cut the coach loose and bring in the experienced Dutchman to steady the ship, reports SoccerLaduma.

Krol, who is allegedly open on a return to the Premiership, enjoyed stunning success during his stint at Orlando Pirates as he guided the side to a treble.

Krol has a wealth of experience in African football having formally managed the Egyptian national side as well as a host of clubs from across the continent. The Dutch mentor most recently led Raja Casablanca to the Unaf Club Cup back in 2015.
