Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has confirmed that winger William Twala will be sidelined for up to three to four weeks after picking up an ankle injury.

The Glamour Boys fell to a 2-1 defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium on Saturday evening in the latest round of the Absa Premiership.

Komphela disclosed that the ankle injury the 26-year-old Twala suffered against Free State Stars had worsened. He will be out of action for three to four weeks.

‘Twala is still in a moon boot, and I’m sure very soon he’ll be back,’ Komphela said.

‘He suffered the injury against Free State Stars, so they have given him about three to four weeks to be back.

‘We will look at him when we go back [to training] again to see how he’s doing, but he’s still in a moon boot.’

Kaizer Chiefs will next welcome SuperSport United to the FNB Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
