Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela believes the Amakhosi fans deserve better after his side secured a late victory over Polokwane City on Sunday.

The Glamour Boys secured a late 3-2 victory over Rise and Shine following a 90th-minute goal by midfielder Williard Katsande at the FNB Stadium.

The 49-year-old insists he side showed real character to get back into the match but admits that the fans deserve a better performance from Chiefs.

‘I wish you could have been in the dressing room because honestly speaking in the first-half we didn’t look like people who were playing for Chiefs. I know we are going through trying times but at least show something,’ Komphela said after the match.

‘I strongly believe our people [fans] do not deserve to go through this. We have to try and make their lives easier. They deserve better.’

Kaizer Chiefs will now travel to the Moses Mabhida Stadium when they take on Golden Arrows in the Absa Premiership.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
