Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela thinks Sibusiso Khumalo’s injury might be serious after he limped off during their defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys lost 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Absa Premiership at Loftus Stadium.

Komphela confirmed that he is waiting for a report on Khumalo’s injury, detailing the extent thereof.

‘I haven’t got the report [on Khumalo] yet, I’m sure the medics will update us on that, but by the fact that he had to leave the field, I think it was quite serious,’ Komphela said.

Kaizer Chiefs will next welcome SuperSport United to the FNB Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
