Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has labelled his side’s goalless draw with Bloemfontein Celtic at the FNB Stadium as a ‘very tense match’.

The Glamour Boys have now claimed their sixth draw of the season after 13 matches played in the Absa Premiership and currently sit sixth on the table with 18 points.

The 49-year-old admits that his side’s clash against Celtic was a ‘very tense’ match but insists that Amakhosi lacked composure to convert their chances in the final third.

‘It was a very tense match, especially at the beginning. Obviously, you bring your previous result into [the match]. The beginning was tense and you could see the energy was not there, the players were not as fluid,’ Komphela said after the match.

‘Towards the end [it was also tense] because it is human nature to have at the back of your mind that we should not lose this one.

‘I thought, even though we should compliment Celtic, there was a chance from Michelle Katsvairo in the first half where the goalkeeper was out of the area [and he should have had] just a bit of calmness and composure and take that.’

Kaizer Chiefs will now welcome Polokwane City to the FNB Stadium when the two side’s meet in the Absa Premiership on Sunday.

Kick-off has been set for 15:30.
