Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune admits that he is unhappy to see Reyaad Pieterse depart from the club.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper opted against renewing his contract with Chiefs at the end of the 2015-16 season and signed a three-year deal with SuperSport United.

Khune believes Amakhosi have to move forward after losing Pieterse to Matsatsantsa.

‘It’s very sad to see Reyaad leave the club, but we have to move on because he decided to move on,’ Khune told The Sowetan.

The 28-year-old Chiefs number one believes that Pieterse will contest with Rowen Williams for the number one goalkeeper spot at SuperSport.

‘He has shown that he is one of the best goalkeepers in the country and he has been rewarded with a call-up to the Cosafa Cup team.’

‘He will show his talent and I think he will push Ronwen for that number one spot at SuperSport and he will push for the number one spot in Bafana. I wish him all the best,’ the Bafana Bafana international added.
