Former Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has dismissed reports he is set to takeover the managerial reigns at Orlando Pirates.

While Owngoalnigeria.com had reported a deal could be done to secure the Nigerian’s services at Bucs by the end of the week, Keshi’s has himself contradicted the claim.

‘Honestly I’m shocked to hear this,’ Keshi told SuperSport.com.

‘I don’t know where this is coming from because I have not discussed anything or offer with anyone and my representative has not done so too, or otherwise I would have been informed.

‘Like I told you the last time, if I’m approached and the deal meets my terms, why not? I’m a professional and open to offers provided they are good enough for me.’

Keshi is allegedly keen on securing a new coaching position having recently committed to sporting consultants QT Sports and Tim Sukazi. The Pirates rumours, however, appear wide of the mark for the time being.

The Soweto giants are said to be evaluating the future of current coach Eric Tinkler very carefully following an unimpressive season as the Buccaneers finished way down in 7th in the Absa Premiership standings.

Tinkler guided his side into the Nedbank Cup final but failed at the final hurdle losing 3-2 to SuperSport United.
