Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson says it’s time to get some things right following their elimination from the MTN8 quarter-finals.

Dikwena suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of  Chippa United at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium through goals by Rhulani Manzini and Menzi Masuku.

The 57-year-old coach says he has identified a few aspects of the game that Dikwena needs to work on.

‘There were moments in my team where we were not able to do the right things on the pitch. We have got to go back and work on our mistakes,’ Johnson told the Platinum Stars website.

‘It’s happening especially early in the season and we are able to really stamp the mentality out now because we are not big enough.

Johnson says that both Dikwena and Chippa were evenly matched heading into the game.

‘We beat SuperSport United 1-0, you think you are big enough to come back at Chippa. We are all on level terms here,’ he added.

‘They are professional and we are also professional. We have to give professional performance, especially at home.’

Platinum Stars will now return to the Absa Premiership when they face Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on September 14.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
