Rio 2016 bound Kaizer Chiefs and star Erick Mathoho has declared Brazilian superstar Neymar will not have it all his own way.

Mathoho’s South Africa are set to take on Neymar’s Brazil in the opening game of 2016 Rio, which is set to take place on August 4.

‘Neymar is a quality player, but it is not that simple for a player to [give too much] respect to [an opponent], Mathoho told The Sowetan.

‘We both have two legs. Neymar is at the top level and we are below him, but anything can happen. He is a human being and we will see when we get there,’ he said.

Mathoho was warned the Brazilian he will not make life easy for him.

‘If he comes my way, I will take him out. I will follow him off the pitch. Everyone knows he’s skillful, but I can’t say I’m scared of him,’ he continued.

‘I won’t play my normal game if I go there with a mind like that. I have to be positive.’

The player, affectionately known as Tower, has promised his best for coach Owen Da Gama and the side.

‘It means a lot to me going to the Olympics because there are so many other players who could have been chosen ahead of me.

‘I’m thankful to coach Owen for picking me. I’m going to do my best,’ Mathoho concluded.
