Kaizer Chiefs striker Ryan Moon says he is dedicated to scoring goals for Amakhosi and writing his name in the clubs history books.

The 19-year-old striker joined Amakhosi from Maritzburg United as one of the clubs new signees for the 2016-17 Absa Premiership season.

Moon has already experienced the Soweto Derby from close-up, sitting on the bench for the Carling Black Label Champions Cup game, reports the Kaizer Chiefs website.

The former Maritzburg youth product picked up his first winner’s medal after the Glamour Boys defeated Orlando Pirates 2-0 in the tie.

The striker revealed that his experience leading up to the Champion Cup was ‘breath-taking’ and it was more than he anticipated for.

‘I watched TV that morning and they played the previous Carling Black Label Cup matches. Right there, I felt the excitement building up,’ Moon said.

‘From driving in the bus to the stadium and going through the pitch inspection was a breath-taking experience. After the match, I told my father, who had called to congratulate me, that the experience was beyond measure.’

He made his first appearance in the Gold & Black jersey against National First Division side Magesi FC in the FAME Cup.

‘It was heart-warming to hear the crowd cheering my name when the coach called me to be ready to take the field,’ he added.

The Pietermaritzburg-born striker says his target is to score goals for Amakhosi and he is hoping to write his name in the Glamour Boys history books.

‘I want to score goals for Chiefs,’ he said.

‘I am dedicated to my career and believe I will record my name in the history books of the club.’

Last Season, Moon was given the opportunity to showcase his talent while playing for Maritzburg United and he went on to make three appearances for his former side in all competitions.
