Bidvest Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo says his side’s objective is to stay at the summit of the Absa Premiership table and go on to win the title this season.

The Clever Boys returned to the top of the table following their 2-2 draw with Highlands Park at Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday, and this has lifted the team spirit.

‘We have a good team spirit and everyone is happy. Everyone wants to play and the players that are not playing are happy and we are all supporting each other,’ the Bafana Bafana captain said.

‘We’re putting in the work and you know when you’re top of the log everyone wants to beat you. So, we need to continue playing well and maintain that position as it’s not easy to be on top.’

The club’s main objective this season is to walk away with the Absa Premiership title.

‘We are on top and we want to stay there. Our objective is to win the league,’ he added.

Bidvest Wits will take on SuperSport in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday.

The match at Lucas Moripe Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
