Furman, Yeye excited for reunion

SuperSport United captain Dean Furman has praised the quality of midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane after he signed for Matsatsantsa from Kaizer Chiefs.

On Thursday, Matsatsantsa confirmed the signing of Amakhosi trio Letsholonyane, defender Keegan Ritchie and goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse.

Letsholonyane signed a two-year contract at the club, Pieterse signed a three-year deal while Ritchie was part of a swop deal that saw Sibusiso Khumalo head the other direction.

The former Doncaster Rovers midfielder admitted that ‘Yeye’ is a quality player, he believes that if Matsatsantsa can sign a few more quality players it strengthen the club for the 2016-17 season.

‘Yeye, we welcome him with open arms. He is a top player. He has had a wonderful and successful career,’ said Furman.

‘The more players of his quality that we can bring, it’s great for SuperSport.

Furman has played alongside ‘Yeye’ in the South African national team and knows exactly what to expect from the midfielder.

‘On a personal note, as a player I played with him before. I know the quality he will bring to the squad as well as the other players coming in as well,’ he added.

Yeye repaid the compliment soon after confirming of is move to SuperSport.

‘I am looking forward to teaming up with @de4no22 [Furman]. He’s a good friend of mine and I can’t wait to play with him again.’ Letsholonyane said on his new club’s Twitter account.

Since signing for Kaizer Chiefs in 2008 from Jomo Cosmos, Letsholonyane has made a total of 183 appearance and scored 22 goals cross all competitions during his eight year spell at the club.
