Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teko Modise believes its crucial for the Brazilians to get off to a winning start against ES Setif in the Caf Champions League.

The Brazilians will go head-to-head in the group stage against ES Setif at 08 Mai 45 on Saturday.

The 33-year-old revealed that Sundowns have to win their first game to building momentum for the group stage matches against Enyimba and Zamalek.

‘Look if we go there and register a win, then we stand a good chance of making it out of the group stages. What is important is that we get our heads right,’ Modise told his official website.

‘The players had thought the journey was over before we were recalled so that train of thought must be flushed completely out of our heads.’

Modise insisted that there are no easy teams in the African tournament, but he believes it will take something special for the Brazilians to advance further in the competition.

‘There is nothing easy about competing in such a tournament. We know what other teams are capable of and we have seen a team from our very own league compete at this stage,’ the veteran added.

‘It did not look easy and yes we also know it will take something special from each and every player in the team for us to make it far.’

Over the course of the 2015-16 season Modise has made a total of 33 appearances for Sundowns, while picking up  eight assists and netting two goals in all competitions.

Kick-off has been set for 23:15.
