Free State Stars coach Giovanni Solinas will be hoping to pick up where he left off in December after his side reported back to training on Monday.

Before the break, Ea Lla Koto secured three wins from their last five games, which lifted Giovanni Solinas off the foot of the Absa Premiership table and out of the relegation zone.

Ahead of their clash against Kaizer Chiefs, captain Paulus Masehe, Tholang Lwana, Sinethemba Jantjie and Chris Mafoumbi are still out with long-term injuries while Thokozane Sekotlong suffered a knee injury during their 1-0 victory over Cape Town City.

However, after the club’s first training session, Charles Kampi picked up a knock to his right ankle and will be assessed by the club’s medical team over the next few days, according to the Free State Stars website.

When the Absa Premiership returns, Free State Stars will travel to the FNB Stadium when they face Kaizer Chiefs on February 7.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
