Bidvest Wits CEO Jose Ferreira has revealed that there have been no discussion around bonuses following their triumph over Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 final on Saturday.

The Clever Boys ended a six-year trophy drought following their 3-0 victory over the Brazilians in the final of the tournament.

Gavin Hunt’s side also walked away with R8-million in prize money while runners-up Sundowns picked up R800 000.

Wits CEO has revealed that the players will not be given bonuses after winning the Top 8 tournament.

‘At this club, there was no discussion and there will be no discussion around bonuses,’ Ferreira told KickOff.com.

‘What was important for us was not bonuses but what was important was winning something for the board that has been behind the team through thick and thin for the past four years.’

When the Premier League returns, Bidvest Wits will take on Ajax Cape Town at the Cape Town Stadium on October 26.

Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
