New Orlando Pirates head coach Muhsin Ertugral has informed the side’s supporters that he intends to play attacking football. 

After former Bucs coach Eric Tinkler could only lead the side to seventh in the standings last term, Ertugral has been brought in to return the club to winning ways.

The Turk is set to begin his contract with the side in early July, days before Bucs face Kaizer Chiefs in the pre-season Carling Black Label Cup.

When queried on the brand of football he would seek to play, the coach confirmed he would bring an exciting, aggressive style to Mayfield.

‘Fast paced, attractive, attacking football … and winning football. The team will be very well organized and they will work hard for each other, the club and for the supporters,’ the coach told SoccerLaduma.

‘I want the supporters to enjoy coming to the stadium and I want them to leave happy and satisfied with what they have seen from the team.

‘The team will play football from the back. We will build up from the back. The defenders will play from the back. I want our defenders to finish off attacking moves in the opposition half, to score goals and for the team’s shape to work accordingly, so that we are not exposed,’ he added.

Finally, the coach added that he hopes Pirates can play like Spain.

‘Look at Spain in the Euros on Monday – their centre back, Pique, ends up in the opposition box to score from an attack in open play. That’s what we will be looking for,’ Ertugral concluded.
