Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral believes star striker Tendai Ndoro is rare talent that requires special attention to perform at his best.

Ndoro made a thunderous start to the season as bagged a hat-trick in the Buccaneers’s opening game victory against Golden Arrows on Wednesday and Ertugral has praised the way the Zimbabwe international reacted after the half-time interval.

‘You must ask Tendai what I told him at half-time,’ revealed Ertugral. ‘He didn’t move, let me say, to our pattern that we had trained and he had his reasons when we had that talk at half-time.

‘But it wasn’t just short, I actually spoke to him about what is expected of him in that position and how to play against Golden Arrows. He did it perfectly in the second half and you could see by his three goals.’

Ertugral explained that Ndoro required individual attention to be sparked into life, while he also added he expects his side to continue to improving as they get increasingly used to his style.

‘You can’t treat every player the same way, whoever says that is a mess. Every human being is different, so we as coaches – that’s my job – need to look into their needs,’ Ertugral told KickOff.

‘And I’m getting used to Tendai and he’s getting used to me, I think you would have found that he’s a great, great player,’ the coach concluded.

Pirates are next in action when they face Bidvest Wits in the MTN8 on Saturday.

The match will be played at the Bidvest Stadium.

Kick-off is at 20:15.
