Platinum Stars left back Siyabonga Zulu has boldly proclaimed that his side could lift a treble this season.

Stars enjoyed a successful 2015-16 season in the Premiership as they secured a third-placed finish, thereby earning a place in the Caf Confederations Cup.

In addition to the continental tournament and the new Premiership season, the side will also have a chance to claim silverware when they compete in the Nedbank Cup, the MTN8 and the Telkom Knockout tournaments.

The side are not unused to lifting trophies having won a MTN8 and the Telkom Knockout double back in 2013 while Zulu is confident the side can do even better this term.

‘I think we can get three trophies this season,’ Zulu told the club’s website.

‘I want to win the league with the team this season and see myself maybe playing overseas in the future. The league is going to be competitive.’

The player went on to express his satisfaction with the side’s current squad, believing them to have made a series of prudent investments in the transfer market. Zulu also credited the competitiveness of the side.

Stars will next take to the field when they face Orlando Pirates in the Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
