Platinum Stars general manager Senzo Mazingiza says his side are excited about the prospect of participating in the Caf Confederation Cup in February.

Dikwena faces a busy fixture list with the return of the Absa Premiership and their participation in the Caf Confederation Cup starting from next month.

Mazingiza says his side are excited and are now relishing the chance to compete in the African tournament.

‘There’s excitement in the club despite the unwarranted displays and position. We are excited with the prospects of competing in the CAF Confederation Cup. Preparations are underway,’ Mazingiza told the Platinum Stars website.

‘We have just finalized our registration. We are on track in terms of our plans. We are looking forward to determined and better displays.

‘Everybody is registered in terms of who is supposed to be there. We have got about five spaces. If we are lucky to get the players that the coach desires, we are likely to register them for the competition.’

When the Absa Premiership returns, Platinum Stars will next face Orlando Pirates at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on February 8.

Kick-off has been scheduled for 19:30.
