Maritzburg United caretaker coach Fadlu Davids says he was disappointed to have conceded a goal during his side’s 2-1 victory over Orlando Pirates on Tuesday.

The Team of Choice scored to second-half goals courtesy of Bevan Fransman and Brian Onyango before Ayanda Nkosi netted a consolation goal for the Buccaneers.

The caretaker coach believes his side fought hard to collect all three points but was left disappointed after conceding a goal in the match.

‘Absolutely fantastic in the first half from the players, they followed out the tactical plan, we could have had more underlapping and overlapping runs on both flanks, but going 0-0 at half-time was disappointing,’ Davids said after the match.

‘Luckily enough the players fought and we got the two goals, but I’m very disappointed in the end to concede the one goal.’

Maritzburg United will be hoping to continue their winning ways when they travel to the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off has been set for 15:30.
