John Comitis has confirmed that Mpumalanga Black Aces will relocate to Cape Town for the 2016-17 as a result of his purchase of the PSL club.

‘Pre-season training will commence in the City mid-June,’ the club’s new owner wrote in a statement released to the media.

‘I am delighted that the head coach will be Muhsin Ertugral. I strongly recommended Muhsin to the Morfou brother at the beginning of the 2016 season and Muhsin was instrumental in achieving their best ever season. I am excited to work with such a top level coach again.’

Comitis further revealed that that the delay in confirming the deal was due to the club’s previous owners’ request to keep the club in Mpumalanga.

‘My business strengths and vision however and infrastructure are totally Cape Town based and this decision to move the club to the City has not been an easy one.

‘What is however clear to me is that I am humbled by the overwhelming support and desire by Capetonian’s and the  football fraternity  at large to make Cape Town a football powerhouse.’

Mpumalanga’s loss is the Mother City’s gain with Comitis set to unveil the Cape Town’s side new plan, vision and identity ‘within the next two weeks’.
