Chippa United have their sights set on winning their first cup match in the history of the club’s existence.

The Chilli Boys have not won a single cup match since the club was established in 2010 by Chippa Mpengesi, however, Chippa managed to finished sixth in the Absa Premiership last term.

Chippa’s communications manager Luthando Zibeko says the clubs has to change their record in cup matches, instead of just making up numbers.

‘We want to compete, we want to do much better than we did last season. There’s one thing that has not happened since the club has been in the PSL, we’ve never won a cup game so we don’t want just to make up numbers,’ Zibeko told KickOff.com.

‘Every time it’s a cup game you know that Chippa is going to be knocked out by Natal Eastlands or a team from First Division so we want to compete for trophies,’ he added.

Chippa face Platinum Stars in the last eight of the MTN8.
