Chiefs to move for Serbian defender?

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly preparing a deal to bring Serbian central defender Jasmin Trtovac to the club.

The Amakhosi are believed to be keen on strengthening the side’s backline, which flattered to deceive for much of the last season.

According to SoccerLaduma, it is thought the 29-year-old Serbian could serve be the missing link in the Naturena back four.

Chiefs finished way off the pace in the Premiership last term, eventually finishing fifth in the standings under the guidance of coach Steve Komphela, who in his first season in charge of Chiefs also failed to win a trophy.

Trtovac is currently on the books of Serbian outfit Novi Pazar, who narrowly escaped relegation from the Serbian Premier League this term.

The defender’s contract with the club is set to expire at the end of the month and he is yet to agree a new contract.

Trtovac managed 20 appearances for Novi Pazar this term, scoring once and will be a free agent on July 1.
