Portuguese Liga 2 outfit CD Tondela has confirmed the signing of South Africa midfielder Sphephelo Sithelo from Belenenses.

The 24-year-old midfielder joined the club after putting pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Gold and Greens.

Sithelo has previous experience playing for KZN Academy, Sporting CP U19, Vitória de Setúbal FC U23, Belenenses SAD U23 and most recently for the Belenenses senior team.

Over the course of his career, Sithelo has made 107 across all competitions playing in South Africa and Portugal.

Sithelo says he is excited about his new club and will remain at Tondela until the end of June 2025.

“I am very happy to be here. Tondela showed a lot of interest in me and when I found out, it didn’t take me long to say yes. I really wanted to come and I’m happy to be here with you,” Sithelo told his club’s official website.

“I’m a midfielder who thinks above all about the team. I help in defence and attack, I can be a ‘box to box’, always thinking about the team and winning the three points.”
